The resurgence of those who advocate following a madhab blindly, has led to propagate the Ahlul Hadeeth are a new group and in some cases to play the manhaj of Ahlul Hadeeth down they vehemently say, Oh they are the Ahle hadis of the sub continent. This our dear readers is indeed a farce and shying away from the truth.
Again in recent times we have seen the madhabis formulating new arguments and evolving their opinions as to the matter of taqleed. In evolving and concocting self formulated arguments you will them attempt to discredit the madhab of the Ahlul Hadeeth, the salaf and Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah so much so that some of the ignorant ones even go onto say there are no other madhabs except the 4, or the Ahlul Hadeeth have no heritage etc etc.
Please dear readers or those who sympathise with the madhabs we believe and propagate that they are from Ahlus Sunnah however what we don’t like is when our origins are questioned in order to belittle us and deny our heritage. If you feel the need to follow a madhab then we are not holding you back then similarly have the decency to accept ours.
At the head of these futile and ignorant claims are so called forums with our names of Ahlul Hadeeth and it is pure contradiction that they follow madhabs vehemently and use the name of our madhab. Our noble scholars may Allaah preserve them have widened the scope and said in order to facilitate learning using the madhabs as a tool as this is acceptable but the madhabis are like no you have to follow one madhab only and when your reach the level of ijtihad only then can you change your opinion, but until then you remain a muqallid. Etc etc. What follows are short articles and quotes in defence of the way of Salaf us-Saaliheen the Ahlul Hadeeth.
Shaikh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said,
“From them Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jama’ah is an old MADHAB and it was well known before Allaah created Abu Haneefah, Maalik, Shaafiee and Ahmad. Verily this is the MADHAB of the Sahabah which they took from the Prophet (Sallalahu Alayhee Wasallam) and whoever opposes that is an innovator according to Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah.” (Minhaaj as Sunnah an-Nabawiyyah Fee Naqdh Kalaam ash-Shia Wal-Qadariyyah (1/256).
So those who want to follow later madhabs may do so but why not follow the very first madhab. The arguments these current day madhabis put forward is that oh we want to follow what the earlier scholars said as they were closer to the first three generations and funnily here when they say earlier scholars they don’t mean the 4 imaams they mean and are referring to the books authored by the scholars who attempted to first formulate and collate the madhabs. Well we say why not follow what the first three generations did as opposed to following the later generations.
Imaam Aamir bin Sharajeel Sha’bee who was from amongst the teachers of Imam Abu Haneefah and he met over 500 companions said,
“What I understand now if I had known this before then I would have only narrated those hadeeth which the Ahlul Hadeeth agreed upon.” (Tadhkirratul Huffadh (1/83)
Please note Imaam Aamir is saying this after meeting over 500 companions, so who was he referring to as the Ahlul Hadeeth, the companions obviously. Again this proves and shows the companions were Ahlul Hadeeth and this is the way we intend to emulate.
Abu Bakr bin A’yaash, who was from amongst the taba Tabi’een said.
“The Ahlul Hadeeth in every era are like the people of Islaam in relation to other religions.” (al-Meezaan (1/57) of Sha’araanee.
What does all of this mean, well it means the Ahlul Hadeeth and their madhab existed in the first three generations and there were no hanafi’s, malikis, Shafi’ees or hanbalis at that time!!!
And also let the person who posted on, yet again another forum saying that the Ahlul Hadeeth were worse innovators than the barailwis at least develop some integrity and write something in reply directly to us as opposed to making audacious futile claims.
